Urban Land Institute: Building Industry Leaders

Building Industry Leaders is an important and impactful program created by the Urban Land Institute of DFW. It gives volunteers in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries an opportunity to connect with and mentor high school students in the Boys and Girls Club. Students who participate in this program are able to compete for scholarship dollars towards higher education and learn about the variety of opportunities within the AEC Industry.

During the shoots for this project I collaborated with Beowulf Media to help with interview setup and lighting shoot interviews and to shoot all the amazing b-roll at three different BIL sessions. I interviewed students, volunteers, and coordinators to get the full scope and impact of Building Industry Leaders. After editing, the final deliverable was a short documentary segmented into four parts that can be shared as individual videos – The Importance of the Work, The Impact on Participants, The Joy of Volunteering, and Expansion and Reach.
